OP, when talking about stuff this serious, isn't it irresponsible not to use a better source than some slop mill called "Otaku Kart"? The South China Morning Post is among the closest things I can find to a credible source on this topic, and it says nothing about "treason". This article you've posted doesn't cite its source(s) at all.

*Tempo* says the flag is banned, but it never uses the word "treason".

The person who spoke of "treason", also allegedly runs online gambling business in Cambodia.

"Gerindra Party Secretary-General Ahmad Muzani voiced uncertainty over the Gerindra Party politician and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad’s alleged ties to an online gambling operation in Cambodia."

Of course you won't find the story because all the politicians here are part of a huge oligarchy along with former generals of the armed forces including the current president.

also this person did not directly say about treason but the meaning of his sentence can be interpreted as an attempt to commit treason.

the govt is a bunch of paranoid old oligarchs. they thought flag is a separatist symbolism or sme sort of dogwistle. the younger kids fly the flag for the memes, which in fact has gone more viral due to the streissand effect the paranoid govt created.
